The Grenfell Historical Society is a non-profit organization that is mandated to preserve and promote the Historical significance of Sir Wilfred Grenfell and the Grenfell Misssion.

The organization is member based and member driven. If you are an individual or organization that has an affiliation or attachment to the history that Sir Wilfred Grenfell created and continues to be a part of the Northern Peninsula and Southern Labrador then you are needed to work with this organization.

There is a $10 annual fee for membership, or a $300 fee for life time membership to the society. for further information or to confirm attendance contact Cynthia at 454-4010.

Sir Wilfred Thomason GrenfellDr. Grenfell had a strong presence, not only in St Anthony, but throughout the entire peninsula and along the coast of Labrador. With this in mind, the Grenfell Historical Society has tried to ensure that all events associated with Dr. Grenfell has a focus which extends to Northern Newfoundland and Labrador in an effort to keep his legacy alive. It is the responsibility of the entire region to help keep his legacy, and this important part of the regions’ history alive. Supporting the Grenfell Historical Society by purchasing a membership, is the ideal way to accomplish this.

AS A MEMBER  you have FREE access to the Grenfell House Museum and the Exhibit at the Interpretation Centre, you will receive a discount on purchases at Grenfell Handicrafts gift shop, get advance notice of upcoming events and you will be eligible to run for a position on the Board of Directors of the Grenfell Historical Society and have your say in how the Society is run.

There would be no Grenfell Legacy without the individuals, from the region he served, who helped him in his work and supported his efforts. Keeping alive the Grenfell Legacy will help keep alive the legacy of all these amazing individuals who contributed selflessly to Dr. Grenfell’s work and the work of the Grenfell Mission.
